New Updates on Iskandar Malaysia

As a Malaysian-Johorean and Singapore PR, the most happiest thing that I am glad to see is that, the improvement in relationship between Singapore and Malaysia. From TODAY newspaper, it is more convenient for Singaporean and Malaysian as well as its travelers to travel in between both countries.

Copied from the phase

'Travellers can expect a smooth trip when the Woodlands Train Checkpoint opens on Friday (1 July 2011) - the day Tanjong Pagar and Bukit Timah railway stations cease operations.

Seven train services to adn from Malaysia will depart from and arrive at the Woodlands Train Checkpoint daily and the authorities said they will monitor the clearance and traffic situation there....

... Passengers arriving in Singpaore will pass through the Malaysia Departure Clearance facility in Johor Bahru and will clear Singapore immigration at the Woodlands Train Checkpoint.

Passengers can expect a clerance time of between 10 and 30 minutes, depending on the number of passengers.

Departing travellers will clear immigration for both countries at the Woodlands Train Checkpoint, where final touches on the new facility, the Malaysian Arrival Clearance, are being made."

I believe it is now the best time to do the business in cross borders as more business activities will be conducted in both Iskandar Malaysia as well as Singapore. Singaporean can now make a weekend relaxation trip to Iskandar Malaysia within 1 hour and I believe that with more developement in infrastructure & public transport system, it will benefit citizens in both countries.

Let's hope for a better tomorrow!
